There Mound Builder Hands are based off of shell gorgets found at the mounds like the Spiro Mounds of Oklahoma. Each hand is carved out of Mother of pearl. There is a diamond shape in the palm which comes from a lot of our southeastern designs in our garments and patchwork. There is a bit of 24 karate foil in the center to compliment the golden hue of the mother of pearl which was attached by using a technique called keumbo which uses heat and pressure to bond sterling silver and gold permanently. The top stone comes from the southwestern turquoise mine called number 8. The beautiful pools of blue is why number 8 turquoise is one of my favorite stones to work with, very striking matrix and contrast.
