This sticker is made from a piece I created to be auctioned off for the Phoenix Indian Center’s Silver & Turquoise Ball in 2018. The mixed medium piece was painted with acrylics on a cow skin hide ‘shield’. The image of Chief Joseph was applied using Gel Medium Image Transfer and layers of acrylic paint.
Chief Joseph (Hin-mah-too-yah-lat-kekt) was a great leader of the Nez Pierce Tribe. He was a protector and great speaker. His words have always resonated with me and continues to inspire me:
